Temporary Works Checks

Rubix Consulting are able to check on designs produced by site teams, subcontractors, equipment suppliers and external consultants and can provide a Temporary Works Advisory Service.

The HSE advise that temporary works designs should be checked for design concept, strength, structural adequacy (including foundations and lateral stability) and compliance with the design brief, prior to being put into practice or use.

It further states that the design check should be carried out by an independent competent person(s) and that the ability and independence of the checker should be greater where the temporary works are more complex or where new ideas are incorporated.

Recommendations for various categories of design check are given in BS5975:2019 The Code of Practice for Temporary Works.

Rubix Consulting are able to check and comment on designs produced by the site team, subcontractors, equipment suppliers and external consultants and are capable of providing a Temporary Works Advisory Service through the entire construction process.

So, whether you need an independent check of a non-standard access scaffold, a formwork scheme or tower crane foundation, we will be able to assist.
