Project Description

The project involved the exciting redevelopment of vacant offices into student accommodation with retail units at ground floor level. Two new storeys were added to the existing four-storey reinforced concrete frame structure to create 149 studio bedrooms, 7 common rooms and areas for basement bike parking.

Rubix Consulting successfully carried out the design and independent checking of several Temporary Works items including a cruciform tower crane foundation, site hoardings, site office foundations, access scaffolds, hoists and bearing pressure checks for a range of mobile cranes.
